We have started the rollout of our latest version of JobWatch, version 5.12. This version is currently being pushed to customers who have tablets that are managed by BigChange with it being available to download from the Android Store currently scheduled for the 17th August.
The latest app release includes the new features detailed below. In order to enable the use of these new features, new configuration options will be made available within the back office of JobWatch; the settings will be made visible in the next web release that is due to take place this week, once settings have been enabled, only those devices with 5.12 will be able to use the new functionality.
Update Vehicle Following Job Completion
Area We’re Addressing
When a job is completed, the vehicle doesn’t get updated on the job detail tab if a different vehicle is used. This means the customer has no way of knowing whether the vehicle planned to be used on the job was the one which was actually used, or not.
What’s New
When enabled in Administration, a new option in account settings displays the vehicle which was used at the time the job was completed, with the planned vehicle displayed beneath, when different.
Please note, this is only for sites with the preview parameter enabled and who are running JobWatch 5.12 or later.
Self-Allocate Unscheduled Jobs
Area We’re Addressing
Device users are currently unable to self-allocate jobs which are unallocated.
What’s New
Where permissions are in place, resources will now be able to search for unallocated jobs, taking into account resource restrictions, such as location and skills.
Worksheet Summary & Show Only Mandatory Questions
Areas We’re Addressing
It’s quite difficult to spot the mandatory questions on large WorkSheets and there is no current ‘at a glance’ method to see which Workflows still need completion.
What’s New
A collapsible Worksheet list, displaying completion status for each Worksheet, is now visible from the Job start screen.
Apply Default Worksheet Answers
Area We’re Addressing
There is no current way to easily populate default values on WorkSheets.
What’s New
When enabled in Administration, users will be able to use a one-touch application button to apply default answers on Worksheets.
Save User Signature
Area We’re Addressing
Users have to repeatedly input their signature to sign off on checks, expenses, etc.
What’s New
Users can save their signature in Settings and then click on the ‘use save signature’ button.
Note: the ‘use saved signature’ button will only appear once a signature has been saved. When pressed on a WorkSheet, the field will be filled with the resource name.
Date/Time Button for Worksheet Questions
Area We’re Addressing
When answering Worksheet questions which require the current date and time, it would be useful if Resources could complete this in a single click.
What’s New
A new button Set to Current Date & Time allows resources to press it to set both date and time in the case of Date questions, or just the time for Time questions.
