The Booking Site
The Booking Site acts as a client portal; a place where your customers can sign in and carry out a variety of tasks, unaided. Examples of the types of activities which they can undertake include booking in jobs, downloading their own job cards, viewing job progress and creating alerts.
The new booking site contains some exciting new developments which you and your customers can benefit from.
The new booking site has even more customisation options, enabling a more bespoke and user-friendly experience for your customers.
In addition to adding company logos to the booking site, you can now set colour schemes that match your brand, or the brands of your customers. You can set the primary colour, with the secondary colour automatically calculated, to ensure a consistent aesthetic appearance. When setting a colour, a contrast level of at least 4.5 must be obtained to retain the AA accessibility rating.
There are currently 2 routes to the booking site for your customer.
1. Default Booking Site
If your customer visits booking.bigchange.com/yourcompanyname they will be presented with a login screen with some limited customisation, including your company logo. This level of customisation is set in the Account Settings.
For example, if your company name was ‘Fast Repair’, the booking site web address could be set to: https://booking.bigchange.com/fastrepair
To create or edit this, navigate to My Account > Administration > General Account Settings [Quick links menu] > Booking Site [side menu]
2. Customer Specific Booking Site
If your customer visits booking.bigchange.com/yourcustomersname they could be presented with a login screen with their logo and colour customisations. Refer to the “Accessible” section for more information regarding colour customisations.
For example, if your customers name was ‘Fitzwilliam Enterprises’, the booking site web address could be set to: https://booking.bigchange.com/fitzwilliamenterprises
The process for setting up a customer-specific site is very similar to that for setting up the default site but it begins in the CRM, rather than in Administration.
To create or edit this, Navigate to CRM > Select Contact > Booking site [tab]
This level of customisation is set at the contact level, meaning you could have a login site for each and everyone one of your contacts, should you wish.
Please note, colour customisations are also applied here.
To do this, navigate to My Account > Administration > General Account Settings [Quick links menu] > Booking Site [side menu]
You can either provide enter a URL where your privacy document is held online (link to your website for example) or, upload a PDF document.
The booking site aims to conform to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 level AA, set out by the World-Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities and user-friendly for everyone. To read more about WCAG, please visit the Website Accessible Initiative website.
By developing the Booking Site to be more accessible, it is now more inclusive, improving end-user access to the content, information and opportunities that it provides.
The content is built to be accessible with common assistive technologies and different ways of using the website, which means you can:
- Change colours, contrast levels and fonts using browser functionality
- Zoom in up to 200 per cent without problems.
- Navigate most of the website using just a keyboard.
- Navigate most of the website using speech recognition software.
- Interact with most of the website using a screen reader (including recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver).
- Read most of the website on devices without a screen, such as a braille computer.
Full details are available by selecting the accessibility statement from the footer of any booking site page.
In recognition that users may access the booking site using a variety of technologies and devices, including mobile devices on the go, all pages of the booking site have been optimised.
This means the layout of the pages dynamically adjusts to the size of the screen, making it easy to use without needing to zoom in.
To compliment the accessibility developments, by making the booking site responsive, it is now even more inclusive, further improving end-user access to the content, information and opportunities that it provides.

Import & Export Contracts
The Contract feature of BigChange enables you to simply manage all of the documents pertaining to individual contracts in a single place, regardless of the complexity.
Not only can BigChange simplify your business processes by, for example, creating invoices against a pre-determined schedule, but it also allows emails or pdf downloads of either individual or summary documents to be available at the touch of a button.
The new import option will be extremely useful for new customers who have a lot of contracts that need adding to the system during initial setup, and existing customers who have acquired several new contracts as they continue to grow. Similarly, contracts can also be exported from the system; particularly useful for reviewing contracts.
Using the export and import features together, contracts can be exported, updated, and then re-imported, updating a lot of information in the system, quickly and efficiently.
To import your contracts, navigate to CRM [tab] > Financial Documents [side menu] > Contracts > Import
The import file will contain multiple tabs to capture all your contract information, including general contract information, invoicing periods and invoicing period line items.
Please note, you can import the information using a blueprint however, contract custom fields cannot currently be imported. This is a planned development for a future release; the system will not allow you to import contracts that contain custom fields.
To export your contracts, navigate to CRM [tab] > Financial Documents [side menu] > Contracts > Export
Again, the export file will contain multiple tabs, capturing all your contract information, including general contract information, invoicing periods and invoicing period line items.
Please note, you can export the information using a blueprint however, contract custom fields cannot currently be exported. This is a planned development for a future release; the system will not allow you to export contracts that contain custom fields.
To learn more about the benefits of the Contracts feature, please read the Contracts section of the Help Centre article, Financials.
